Where the process fits

Internal and external profiles, narrow slots and drawing-defined contours can be reviewed in electrically conductive materials. Material condition, thickness and access for threading the wire affect feasibility.

Set up the profile clearly

Include a dimensioned drawing and DXF, DWG or model where available. State whether a blank is supplied, how it is located, and which edges or datums control the finished profile.

• Material grade, hardness or heat-treatment condition
• Part thickness and quantity
• Required profile tolerance and surface finish

Coordinate the complete component

If the part also needs milling, drilling, treatment or finishing, share the complete drawing. The operation sequence is reviewed so the profile and related features retain the required relationship.

Inspection and quotation

Identify the features that need recorded measurements. Profile checks, reporting, lead time and acceptance criteria are agreed against the component; a general process capability is not a promise for every geometry.
