One enquiry for the complete requirement
A component may need several operations before it is ready to use. We review machining, finishing and specialist support together, with a clear distinction between our core manufacturing and work coordinated through partners.
- Surface treatments
- Paint · anodize · plateSpecialist partner support; coating specification, thickness and masking reviewed.
- Heat-treatment requirement
- Hardness / case depthSpecify material condition, target and dimensions that apply after treatment.
- Complete component
- Machine → finish → inspectOperation sequence and responsibility agreed for the order.
From unfinished stock to an accepted component
- 1
Confirm the final part
Send the finished drawing and tell us what material or partly finished work you already supply.
- 2
Plan each operation
Agree machining, treatment and any final grinding. Identify who performs each specialist operation.
- 3
Finish to specification
Control coating, masking, hardness and the dimensions that must be correct after treatment.
- 4
Inspect & release
Check the finished component against the agreed criteria and include the specified document pack.
Surface finishing
Choose the finish needed for the part. We coordinate suitable work through specialist partners and confirm the specification before manufacture.
- Painting: colour, coating system, thickness and appearance
- Anodizing: alloy, type, thickness, colour and masked areas
- Plating: deposit, thickness, protected areas and acceptance tests
- Passivation / electropolishing / conversion coating: governing specification and required surface condition
Heat treatment and grinding
Heat treatment changes material properties and can affect dimensions. We review the material and target condition with the specialist, then plan any final grinding or checks.
- Treatment: anneal, normalize, harden and temper, case harden or suitable nitriding
- Target: final hardness, case depth and protected areas
- Sequence: machining allowances and any grinding after treatment
- Acceptance: dimensions after treatment and required process records
Specialist manufacturing support
Casting-related work, gear hobbing, plano milling and jig boring can be reviewed through the manufacturing network. These are drawing-based enquiries; machine capacity, tooling, achievable accuracy and inspection responsibility are confirmed before quotation.
- Casting: material, model, quantities, allowances and tests
- Gears: module, tooth count, pressure angle, face width and accuracy
- Plano milling: size, weight, flatness, datums and handling
- Jig boring: bore sizes, hole positions, datum scheme and reporting
Tell us where your work starts and what you need delivered
Do you need a finished component from raw material, or only the remaining operations on a part you already have? Share the finished drawing and use this checklist so the quotation covers the right work.
- You supply: raw material, a casting, a machined part, or nothing yet
- We supply: list the machining, treatment, finishing and assembly operations needed
- Final acceptance: identify dimensions after coating or treatment, tests and required reports
- Before ordering: agree each operation, specialist responsibility, timing and total quoted scope
